WACHAU . AUSTRIA
Video Production
Josef Fischer is a third-generation winery on the cool, lesser-known right bank of the Danube in Wachau, Austria. Grüner Veltliner and Riesling specialists, these are organically farmed, single-vineyard expressions.
With eleven wines made from just two grape varieties, it was essential to delve into the unique personality and nuance of each vineyard to ensure every wine video felt distinctive rather than repetitive. We also chose to have Josef Fischer speak in his local dialect instead of standard German, highlighting the authenticity and rootedness of the winery’s origin.
Inspired by the tension and sound of a bowstring, we saw the winemaker as the conductor of the vineyard and cellar, in perfect control of all of wine’s elements. To truly capture this experience, Johan de Klerk composed an original score as the soundtrack to this video.
